On 20th and 21st September 2016 in Belgrade, the Ministy of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Institute for Improvement of Education of the Republic of Serbia organized an international conference on vocational education, undergoing a reform process for ten full years – Joint vision: Education for practical knowledge and skills.
During the conference, the project ‘Reform of vocational education and training’ which is being implemented on behalf of the German Government as one of the numerous reform measures implemented in Serbia over the past decade, either by Serbia alone or with the support of foreign donors, was presented, together with the work of educational authorities intensly involved in the education reform with the view to increase the quality, relevance and efficiency of education.
The conference was opened by the Minister Mladen Šarčević, and it hosted all the relevant stakeholders in the field of VET from Serbia, as well as from the region. Regional experts in VET, many of whom are members of the ERI SEE SEEVET Network, presented their national realities, reforms and practices in VET to the audience, and ERI SEE Secretariat had the opportunity to present its plans and activities in the upcoming period.
