ERI SEE seminar on removing obstacles to recognition of qualifications | ERI SEE

ERI SEE seminar on removing obstacles to recognition of qualifications will take place in Zagreb, Croatia on 5-6 November 2015. The regional seminar will be co-organised by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport of the Republic of Croatia, Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE).

 The regional seminar builds on the previous activities of ERI SEE led by Croatia in the area of removing obstacles to recognition of qualifications in SEE region (Report from the ERI SEE seminar, 2014) and on the work within the framework of the Bologna process and the relevant recommendations adopted by EHEA ministers of education at the Bologna Ministerial Conference in May 2015 (the Yerevan Communiqué).

 Major topics of the seminar include:

• further activities on the survey on recognition of degrees of other countries in the region (cross-recognition) elaborated in 2014 by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Slovenia
• further development of National Qualifications Frameworks taking into consideration significant difference in stage of development of National Qualifications Frameworks and their referencing to the European Qualifications Framework
• joint preparation of Erasmus+ project proposal based on the recommendation from the Bologna Ministerial Conference: 'to explore the potential for system-level automatic recognition on a regional basis with like-minded partner countries'.

 The seminar will bring together representatives of ministries of education responsible for recognition policy and National Qualification Framework, representatives of national ENIC/NARIC offices and representatives of higher education institutions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.
