The 4th Meeting of the South Eastern Europe Regional VET Network (SEEVET-Net)
Vocational Education and Training (VET) contributes significantly to the creation of jobs, economic growth and social development, as well as to personal development and social inclusion. It constitutes an important part of lifelong learning and plays a vital role in enabling young people to acquire skills and competences relevant for labour market requirements. SEE countries have identified VET development as a very important factor for economic and social development and considerable actions have been foreseen with the national IPA and ENPI planning documents. In order to fulfill the potential of their VET systems, the countries in SEE are undergoing fundamental changes, as a result of numerous international, regional and national initiatives. Read more

Joint TFBHC and ERI SEE Cluster of knowledge: Evidence Based Policy Making in Education
The regional meeting “Turning Research into Practice – Learning from PISA” will be held on June 16-17, 2011 in Belgrade. This is an initial event that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Serbia and the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration are organizing with the partners from the region, within the Joint Cluster of Knowledge of the TFBHC and ERI SEE entitled “Evidence Based Policy Making in Education”. Joint TFBHC and ERI SEE Cluster of Knowledge: Modernizing VET system – improving performance, quality and attractiveness of VET
On 30-31 May 2011 representatives of Ministries of Education, Science and Research and other institutions involved in VET from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia, as well as representatives of the European Training Foundation, the Centre for Education Policy (ERI SEE Interim Agency) and KulturKontakt Austria gathered for a kick off meeting within the Joint Cluster of Knowledge of the TFBHC and ERI SEE entitled Modernizing VET system - improving performance, quality and attractiveness of VET. Western Balkans and Europe 2020 – Towards Convergence and Growth
Following up on the priority actions from its Strategy and Work Programme 2011-2013, and within the mandate provided by the Southeast Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP), Regional Cooperation Council Secretariat (RCC) organized a regional coordination conference titled “Western Balkans and Europe 2020 – Towards Convergence and Growth” in Brussels on March 30 and 31. The meeting, organized to explore the possibilities of further alignment of the region to Europe 2020 policy objectives and principles gathered over 100 representatives of regional organizations and structures, national authorities from Southeast Europe, representatives of international financial institutions, international donor agencies and the officials of the European Union institutions. The 14th meeting of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body was held in Belgrade on 11 March 2011. The meeting was organised by the ERI SEE Interim Secretariat, Centre for Education Policy (CEP). Regional Workshop for Senior Officials and Experts on Cooperation around Clusters of Knowledge
On 14 – 15 December 2010 in Sarajevo representatives of Ministries for Education, Science and Research from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia, as well as representatives of the European Commission (EC), the European Training Foundation (ETF), the Centre for Education Policy on behalf of the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE), the OECD, the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and the RCC Task Force Fostering and Building Human Capital (TFBHC) gathered for a regional workshop on cooperation around clusters of knowledge. Meeting of the South Eastern Europe Regional VET Network (SEEVET-Net) and peer-learning visit to the Netherlands
The purpose of the peer learning visit which was organized in the period 25-27 October was for the SEEVET members to familiarise with the Dutch Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. The 3rd meeting of the SEEVET-Net, which took place on 28 October, contributed to sustained dialogue of VET institutions in the SEE region and agreed on the flagship theme for 2011: Quality Assurance and Enhancement in VET. The 13th Meeting of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body
The 13th meeting of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body was held in Belgrade on 18 October 2010. The meeting was focused on a row of imminent issues tied to the opening of the new ERI SEE Secretariat in Serbia. In total 20 participants, members of the ERI SEE Governing Board and Consultative Body or replacements, representatives of the RCC Secretariat, the TFBHC and the ERI SEE Interim Agency took part to the meeting. International conference on overcoming economic crisis in Western Balkans marked the 2nd RCC anniversary
SARAJEVO – A two-day regional conference “Western Balkans in 2020 – Overcoming the Economic Crisis and Developing Competitive Economies” was held in Sarajevo on 24 February.
