START - Danube Region Project Fund: FIRST CALL for proposals

START – Danube Region Project Fund is a new pilot initiative of the EUSDR and provides Seed Money for the development and implementation of Danube Region projects. Seed Money means that beneficiaries receive an early pre-financing in order to cover the project expenses from the very beginning. This should help especially small organisations with limited resources to START their projects. START is coordinated by PAC 10 of the City of Vienna, with the involvement of all Priority Areas. The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the Europe 2020 strategy, the EU's long-term growth and jobs plan. The consultation will be open until 31 October 2014. South East Europe 2020 Strategy adopted in Sarajevo

The South East Europe (SEE) 2020 strategy was adopted on 21 November 2013 at the Ministerial Conference of the South East Europe Investment Committee, co-chaired by the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).

Creation of one million new jobs in SEE until 2020 is the most important aim of the strategy dubbed “Jobs and Prosperity in a European Perspective”.

Early school leaving (ESL) and dropping out of school are complex social phenomena which require multi-level interventions and cross-sectoral cooperation. Efficient combating ESL and drop out can enhance economic growth, employment and social development. As such, it stands for one of the greatest educational challenges in the region, and reducing ESL and drop-out is a shared objective of SEE countries. Read more
